Café 15

Café 15 is a family owned restaurant creating unique dishes using locally sourced ingredients and driven by the joy of sharing good food and exploring new flavors.Restaurant used to be located on the corner of 15th and Jefferson in Oakland,CA for years, and that's how it got its name. New owners bought the restaurant, and at the beginning they were only doing catering and needed a new look and a stronger identity. Even though Café 15 was no longer located in the same address, in creating the new logo my intention was to somehow incorporate that history of a neighborhood restaurant, and I wanted it to look almost like a street sign or a house number. The new identity also draws a lot of inspiration from Mexican Talavera tiles and patterns as a nod to owners' Latinx heritage and at the same time creating a vibrant and playful graphic language.
